Re: Eloise rejecting Cressida: 1) She knows Cressida is lying about being Lady W. Once Cressida asked her to help her create the false issues of W, Eloise knew she could not enter into the deception, which is essentially defrauding the Queen. 2) At the end of the day, Eloise is much more loyal to Penn than she is to Cressida. Eloise knows how important W is to Penn so she knows she has to walk away from Cressida. But at least she was being upfront with Cressida in telling her, honestly, to her face that she can no longer remain friends with her. On the other hand, Cressida turned right around and lashed out at Eloise, turning on her "Mean Girl" persona, like flipping a switch. I think most people are sympathetic to Cressida's situation but, at the same time, we do not endorse her course of action, per lying and Blackmail.

isn't it Ep5? i love all the expressions Penelope gave in this ep... especially the moment when Colin told her that he loves her --- the distrust, the disbelief, all her insecurities rising --- so heart wrenching..

I loved how Colin excitedly shows Penelope their new house, but, career girl that she is, she just ignores it... and focuses on him.... I don't give a toss about the house! Did anyone notice that? Wouldn't a non-career girl have ooh-ed and aah-ed about their new house?

I also questioned Colin walking away from helping Pen at the engagement party, too. It was so strange. Maybe he was trying to give her space, but it dont seem like that would be something he would do.

When Violet hugs Penelope, she looks like she’s going to cry, because this is the mother[-in-law] Penelope has always deserved (regardless of Portia’s redemption arc, which I find a little questionable…)

I SO agree that the carriage scene is much better, passionate and beautiful in the show compared to the book. It is beyond the physical intimacy, it is sooo full of emotion, of joy and the fulfillment of long denied (on Colin’s part) and long hoped for (by Pen) feelings.

The 2nd and 4th episodes are my favorites so far! So good. His anger is so good. Its going to get worse next half. 😂 They are killing it!!!

I love Colin in the show so much. I think Luke Newton and the writing made Colin so much better than the books.

Love your breakdown of the episode, but that carriage scene is sooooo much more than the "fingering" many focus on. It is some of the best acting in Bridgerton, the small nuances b/w them, the sincere looks, and the way they communicate w/ no talking. Such attention to detail. I have also been impressed w/ Violet this season, she is the most astute actresses and her slight facial expressions say it all....thank you. Every time I looked at your reactions, I swear I mirrored them.

Debling would be perfect for Eloise. He's gone all the time, and she would be free to do whatever she wants. He wants a woman who has her own passions and interests, who doesn't mind bucking societal expectations, just like he does. They really would be a good match.

One of my favorite moments this season (outside of the Polin scenes) is Colin and Violet's talk at the ball in Episode 3. She says "Because he gathered the courage to ask," and Colin immediately looks at Pen across the room. Violet follows his gaze, immediately knows he's in love with Pen, and she becomes very still, for just a moment. When she turns back to Colin, you can tell she is happy, and emotional, but pretends they are still discussing Francesca. Her acting in this moment is so beautiful. She doesn't gape at Pen, or widen her eyes, or raise her eyebrows, her jaw doesn't drop in shock, she just becomes very still, so we know that she knows. She also knows her son is afraid to speak his feelings, so she encourages him gently while maintaining his cover that the question is about Francesca's prospects. So much is communicated without saying anything, and it captivates me every time I see it.

You are the only reactor who comment on the nod he does before he gets out the carriage. It was such a great acting choice by Luke bc you can literally see Colin decide in that moment that she is it for him and he is going to marry her. He won’t wait another second.

In the world of bridgerton, death is less important than horniness - Nicola Coughlan, In a behind the scenes with shondaland regarding her standing there for 57 years staring at Colin instead of running. 😂

I really liked Lord Debling a lot. If she could not marry for love he was a good choice.

Loving your reviews! The part where he practically throws her to the wolves without advice might be because he doesn't see her awkwardness. She's comfortable with him, so he thinks she just needs tweaking. He doesn't realize how socially inept she actually is. It's more proof that he sees her differently than the rest of the Ton, and he finds her awkwardness endearing.

Lord Debling was not a good match at all for Penelope because he said there is almost no chance that he will love Penelope and at the same time ask her to only think of him ( no close friendship with a man in her mind - no Colin ). If you think it's a good match when you hear what is said here, I don't think the same way at all, how come he asked her not to think of Colin and told her that with him her marriage will be without love and passion, a life of sadness because he's living for a long time and he will probably be killed and she will be a widow pretty soon with no chance to marry Colin because he will be married by this time. What Debling said makes me cringe. Colin was absolutely right when he said she couldn't marry Lord Debling because he will leave her without love and passion, he's particular ( asking to be the only one man in Penelope's mind while saying love will not be in the picture ) so not right for her. Thank you Mr Colin Bridgerton that's it.

I really wanted him to know she was lw before he proposed but the one thing that makes me feel better about it is that Nicola says this is the moment they truly see eachother, so i think even though he doesnt know her secret he does know her.

Luke said he purposely didn't have colin eat during the first half of the season. He says so to Pen in his dream. He's so wrapped up in her, this notoriously hungry boy can't even eat. Well, except when he ate that iced bun while staring at her; after watching her buy one and lick the icing off her fingers. That made him hungry. 😂

I love your reactions, your theories about some scenes,the little details you give us ( for example, in episode 3, I hadn't realized Violet was watching Colin all the time after he asked her that question and it was you who made me notice it and I was absolutely thrilled). I also appreciate very much how emotional you feel towards the characters, when you said you were broken when Anthony cried ( I was broken too and I also cried with him...). This is one of the best theories I’ve seen! Im worried Colin & Pen would get married before he discovers she’s LW, but I think you’re right everything happens quickly within 5&6… Not necessarily in order but what I think happens in 5: engagement announcement w/family, at some point the argument w/portia where Colin defends pen, they go see their future marital home where they can’t wait until the wedding day! 🔥I do think this is where mirror scene is and broken furniture! pen decides to give up LW after a talk with Eloise, formal announcement at church, engagement ball where Cressida takes credit for being whistle down, episode ends with pen sneaking off and writing a rebuttal as the real LW on her way to the printer. Colin follows her. 6: Colin finds out at beginning of ep 6 , they argue, and work out things over time because POLIN CONQUERS ALL! They get married towards the end of ep. 6 - the name of the episode is the name of the book and those are the episodes where the weddings have been happening. perhaps the tension is (taken from the books) because Cressida is extorting pen & Colin for money. Cressida has been outed as a fraud from the new LW print, she lost the 5k reward from the Queen… and she probably lost her marriage prospect. However, Cressida puts 2&2 together: from Eloise’s engagement speech, Eloise not being willing to help Cressida, etc… so Cressida extorts pen & Colin. I HOPE episodes 7&8 are Colin & Pen working together how to best handle the situation and things go all happily ever after for them while Easter egging the set up for season four! Which is pure torture that… i could not, would not, do not want to give up having to wait for! 😂

God i am so nervous with this trailer especially the last clip showing penolepe turn around and looks at colin with tears in her eyes i hope they will get there happy ever after at the end it would be unfair that all his brothers get happy endings but not colin and penelope and why does she look unhappy danceing with colin in her wedding dress dance scene:(
